    Inhibits PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling and selectively induces apoptosis in senescent cells that resist normal cell death, while activating Nrf2 antioxidant pathways.

    Evidence is insufficient. Fisetin inhibits the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway in cell culture and induces autophagy in cancer cell lines and animal models, which is the basis for the mTOR claim. That is a mechanistic laboratory observation, not a demonstrated human effect: mTOR activity has never been measured in a human fisetin trial, and there is no established way to measure it clinically. mTOR is also not simply something to suppress - it drives muscle protein synthesis and immune function, so blunting it indiscriminately carries real trade-offs, which is why rapamycin trials are conducted with careful intermittent dosing under supervision.

    What the studies say

    Mayo Clinic mouse studies showed fisetin reduced senescent cell burden and extended median and maximum lifespan even when started late in life. Human senolytic trials (Mayo, others) are ongoing; no published human efficacy outcomes yet.

    No studies are yet linked to both Fisetin and mTOR Regulation.
