    Evidence is insufficient. Fisetin improves memory and object recognition in mouse models of Alzheimer disease and normal ageing, reduces amyloid-associated pathology and activates the ERK-CREB pathway involved in long-term potentiation - a coherent preclinical story. But no randomised human trial has tested fisetin for memory, executive function or dementia prevention. Fisetin also has poor oral bioavailability and limited blood-brain barrier penetration in humans, which is exactly where most promising preclinical neuro-compounds fail.

    Rodent studies report improved memory in ageing and Alzheimer models. No human cognitive trial data exists.

    Progressive memory loss, difficulty with familiar tasks, getting lost in known places or personality change needs medical assessment - reversible causes such as B12 deficiency, hypothyroidism, depression, sleep apnoea, medication effects and normal pressure hydrocephalus are treatable, and delay costs time when it matters most. What has evidence for cognitive ageing is blood pressure control, physical activity, hearing aids for hearing loss, treating diabetes, sleep, smoking cessation and social engagement. Fisetin has no established safe long-term dose in humans, no upper intake level and no data in pregnancy, breastfeeding or childhood - avoid in all. It inhibits cytochrome P450 enzymes and P-glycoprotein in vitro, so interactions with prescribed medicines, including anticoagulants and chemotherapy, are plausible but uncharacterised, and it has antiplatelet activity - stop before surgery.
