- The high-dose biotin MS trials failed to confirm early positive signals, and glycaemic trials show small, unreliable effects. Very high doses also cause severe laboratory interference

- Metabolic markers respond to weight, diet, activity and, where indicated, prescribed therapy - and berberine or inositol have far better data than biotin

Safety
Caveats
Very high-dose biotin causes severe immunoassay interference: falsely low TSH, falsely high free T4 mimicking Graves disease, and falsely low troponin, which has contributed to missed myocardial infarctions. Stop at least 72 hours before any blood test - longer at megadoses - and tell every clinician you take it. Do not self-prescribe MS-trial doses. Megadoses are not established as safe in pregnancy.
