    Evidence is insufficient. Nrf2 activation influences proteostasis indirectly: it induces proteasome subunit expression, upregulates chaperone and heat shock responses, and sulforaphane has been shown in cell and animal models to enhance proteasomal activity and reduce protein aggregation in models of neurodegeneration. This is mechanistically coherent, since oxidative damage to proteins is a major source of misfolding. No human study has measured proteasome activity, chaperone expression, aggregate burden or any proteostasis endpoint after sulforaphane, and these require tissue sampling and specialised assays.
