    Physical Stamina Increase

Extended capacity for sustained physical activity and exertion.

    TL;DR

Stamina is built by progressive aerobic training and adequate fuelling. Creatine and beta-alanine help repeated high-intensity efforts; correcting iron and B12 deficiency transforms stamina in anyone who is depleted.

    Why It Matters

Endurance capacity depends on cardiac output, mitochondrial density, substrate availability and fatigue resistance at the muscle. Persistent low stamina despite training warrants investigation: iron deficiency, hypothyroidism, sleep apnoea, anaemia and under-fuelling (relative energy deficiency) are common and correctable causes that no supplement will overcome.

    How to Measure

    Biomarkers

    VO2max
    Ferritin and haemoglobin
    TSH
    Vitamin B12
    Resting heart rate
Time to exhaustion at fixed pace

    Optimization Protocol

    1) Build volume: mostly easy aerobic work with 1-2 harder sessions weekly, increasing load no more than 10% per week. 2) Fuel it — 6-10 g/kg carbohydrate on heavy training days; chronic under-fuelling is the most common hidden cause of stalled stamina. 3) Test ferritin, B12 and TSH if stamina is disproportionately poor. 4) Evidence-backed supplements: creatine 3-5g/day for repeated efforts, beta-alanine 3-6g/day for 1-4 minute efforts, dietary nitrate pre-event for economy, caffeine 3-6 mg/kg pre-session. 5) Sleep 7-9h; sleep restriction reduces time to exhaustion measurably.

    Lifestyle Levers

    • Progressive aerobic volume
    • Adequate carbohydrate fuelling
    • Sleep 7-9h
    • Interval training
    • Heat and altitude acclimation
    • Managing training load and recovery

    Typical Timeframe

Aerobic adaptations appear in 4-6 weeks and continue for months. Beta-alanine needs 4 weeks of loading; creatine 1-4 weeks.
