    Evidence is insufficient. Taurine is an agonist at GABA-A and glycine receptors, which is a plausible route to reduced sympathetic drive, and animal studies show taurine in the brainstem modulates blood pressure and sympathetic outflow, with central administration lowering pressure. A meta-analysis found taurine reduces blood pressure by about 3 mmHg systolic in humans, which is consistent with some autonomic effect but does not demonstrate it. No human trial has measured heart rate variability, baroreflex sensitivity or any other index of parasympathetic activity after taurine supplementation.

    Human trials show small blood pressure reductions at 1.5-3g/day. HRV endpoints are essentially unstudied, making any parasympathetic claim speculative.
