    Sexual Stamina

Enhanced endurance and performance during intimate activities.

    TL;DR

Stamina in bed is mostly cardiovascular fitness, anxiety management and technique. Premature ejaculation is a common, highly treatable condition — behavioural therapy and prescription options beat supplements.

    Why It Matters

Sexual stamina spans cardiovascular capacity, ejaculatory control and psychological arousal regulation. Lifelong premature ejaculation has a strong neurobiological component involving serotonergic signalling and responds to SSRIs and topical anaesthetics; acquired forms are more often linked to anxiety, erectile difficulty or prostatitis. Persistent erectile difficulty is a recognised early marker of endothelial disease and should trigger cardiovascular assessment. Pelvic floor training has genuine randomised trial support and is underused.

    How to Measure

    Biomarkers

    Intravaginal ejaculatory latency time
    IIEF or PEDT scores
    Blood pressure and lipid panel
    HbA1c
Cardiorespiratory fitness (VO2max or step test)
    Testosterone where indicated

    Optimization Protocol

    1) Build aerobic fitness — the strongest general lever, improving both endurance and endothelial function. 2) Train the pelvic floor; randomised trials show meaningful improvement in ejaculatory control from a 12-week programme. 3) Use behavioural techniques such as stop-start and squeeze, which have decades of clinical use and reasonable evidence. 4) Reduce performance anxiety through paced breathing, sensate focus exercises and, where needed, psychosexual therapy. 5) Limit alcohol, which impairs both arousal and control. 6) Treat any underlying erectile difficulty first — rushing to ejaculate is often compensation for losing an erection. 7) Discuss prescription options with a clinician: topical lidocaine-prilocaine and on-demand or daily SSRIs are effective and well studied. 8) Treat supplements as marginal here.
