Overview
Dark circles have three distinct mechanisms, and mistaking one for another explains why most remedies disappoint. Pigmented circles respond to daily sunscreen, avoiding rubbing, and topical agents — vitamin C, niacinamide, retinoids, azelaic acid, or dermatologist-supervised hydroquinone — over months. Structural circles respond to hyaluronic acid filler in the tear trough or lower-lid surgery; no cream fills a hollow. Underlying anemia or thyroid disease should be corrected where present.
