- Take in the morning; avoid evening doses. Evidence is mixed and indirect. No trial has measured exercise motivation, adherence or training volume as an endpoint. What exists is adjacent: rhodiola reduces fatigue in randomised trials, reduces perceived exertion during exercise in acute-dose studies, and improves self-reported wellbeing and mood in stress-related fatigue - all of which could plausibly support the willingness to train, but none of which has been tested. Noreen found reduced ratings of perceived exertion during a time trial, which is the closest relevant finding. The gap between feeling less exhausted and actually training more has not been bridged by any study.

Stimulating for some; take before noon. Avoid in bipolar disorder and with MAO inhibitors.
