    Caveats

    These are biomarker changes in very small studies, not demonstrated clinical benefits - do not assume improved energy, libido or body composition follows. Upper intake level is 20 mg/day, above which nausea, vomiting and headache occur; animal data show reproductive toxicity at high exposures. Avoid in pregnancy and breastfeeding. Avoid in hormone-sensitive cancer, since lowering SHBG raises free hormone levels. Do not supplement with kidney impairment. Genuinely abnormal hormones need endocrine assessment.

    People with normal hormone panels, and anyone with a diagnosed endocrine disorder needing medical treatment.
