    Why It Matters

    1) Sprint at genuinely maximal intent with full recovery, 2-3 sessions weekly — nothing replaces the stimulus. 2) Build maximal strength with heavy squats, deadlifts and Olympic derivatives, since force production underpins acceleration. 3) Add plyometrics to improve rate of force development and tendon stiffness. 4) Warm up thoroughly; sprinting cold is the fastest route to a hamstring tear. 5) Keep carbohydrate intake adequate, since glycolytic sprints depend on muscle glycogen. 6) Prioritise sleep, which strongly affects reaction time and power output. 7) Separate sprint work from heavy fatigue, so quality is maintained rather than accumulating junk volume. 8) Correct iron and vitamin D deficiency, both of which degrade performance.
