    EPA and DHA lower triglycerides, reduce vascular inflammation, and improve endothelial function and arterial elasticity — all relevant to the atherosclerotic process driving PAD. They do not reopen narrowed arteries.

Supervised exercise therapy has strong trial evidence for claudication, and statins plus antiplatelets reduce cardiovascular events in PAD patients. Guidelines position supplements as adjuncts at best.

    Caveats

    Mild blood-thinning — mention to your doctor if on antiplatelets, which most PAD patients are. Fishy reflux common.

    Less likely to help if

    People who continue smoking, and those with critical limb ischaemia needing revascularisation.
