    Take with meals. Evidence is mixed. Randomised trials examining fibrinogen with omega-3 supplementation have produced inconsistent results - some report modest reductions, others no change, and a few report small increases, with meta-analyses generally concluding no reliable effect. This contrasts with omega-3 more consistent effects on triglycerides, blood pressure and platelet function. Where omega-3 does affect haemostasis is through reduced platelet aggregation via decreased thromboxane A2 production, and through modest effects on blood viscosity - mechanisms distinct from fibrinogen synthesis, which is hepatic and largely driven by IL-6 during acute phase responses. Any fibrinogen change likely reflects the general anti-inflammatory effect rather than a direct action.
