- The evidence here is insufficient. Traditional use for cough and respiratory complaints is long-standing, and there are small Chinese-language trials in chronic bronchitis and asthma, but they are methodologically weak and have not shown reliable improvement in spirometry (FEV1, FVC) in controlled conditions.,Asthma and COPD have effective, evidence-based treatments. Never reduce inhaled corticosteroids, bronchodilators or other prescribed therapy to trial a mushroom extract.,Increasing rescue inhaler use, night waking with breathlessness, or a falling peak flow means your condition is deteriorating and needs urgent review.,The interventions that genuinely change lung function trajectory are smoking cessation, pulmonary rehabilitation, vaccination and correct inhaler technique.,If you take cordyceps as an adjunct, 1-3 g/day of a tested product is the studied range.

Safety
Caveats
Do not delay or replace prescribed asthma or COPD treatment — under-treated asthma can be fatal. Inhaled mould-derived products can theoretically provoke symptoms in fungal-sensitised asthmatics. Avoid in autoimmune disease and with immunosuppressants. Product mislabelling and heavy metals are documented concerns. Not studied in pregnancy or breastfeeding.
