ALT (SMD 1.1), AST (SMD 1.01), total cholesterol (SMD 0.98), LDL (SMD 0.96) and triglycerides (SMD 0.95) all significantly reduced versus control.

Limitations
Only five small RCTs from a limited number of research groups; no histological or hard clinical outcomes.
