Abstract
Review of the therapeutic properties and pharmacology of Inonotus obliquus.

Chaga polysaccharides and triterpenoids show antioxidant, immunomodulatory and antitumour activity in cell and animal models, but controlled human trials are essentially absent.
Conclusions
Human efficacy for chaga remains unproven despite extensive preclinical work.
