    Published in Medicina Clinica

    Methodology

Systematic review and random-effects meta-analysis of 10 trials of vitamin C and/or E added to antibiotic therapy

    Key Findings

Combined vitamin C and E supplementation was not associated with improved eradication (OR 1.98, 95% CI 0.92-4.29; P = .08).

    Conclusions

Evidence does not support routine antioxidant vitamin supplementation to improve H. pylori eradication.

    Limitations

Few trials, varying antibiotic regimens and doses, wide confidence intervals.
