Why It Matters
Exertional heat illness ranges from cramps to life-threatening heat stroke. Acclimated athletes sweat earlier, more dilutely and in greater volume, with lower core temperature and heart rate at the same workload.

Optimization Protocol
Acclimate with 60-90 minutes of exercise in the heat daily for 10-14 days, starting at reduced intensity. Replace fluid to within two percent of body mass and include 500-1000 mg of sodium per litre in prolonged sessions. Pre-cooling with cold fluid or ice slurry helps in competition. Creatine and glycerol hyperhydration are secondary considerations.
Supporting Supplements
Creatine Monohydrate
Creatine expands total body water and may buffer core temperature rise, but it does not replace acclimation and can add 1-2 kg of mass.
Beta-Alanine
Beta-alanine buffers muscle acidosis but has no meaningful effect on thermoregulation or heat tolerance.
Glycine
Glycine has no established role in heat adaptation.
