    TL;DR

    Carb blockers (white kidney bean extract) modestly reduce starch absorption and produce small weight effects (~1–2 kg) in trials. They partially blunt refined-starch meals — they do not cancel out a high-carb diet.

    Why It Matters

    Alpha-amylase inhibitors from white kidney bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) reduce starch digestion by roughly 50–66% in mechanistic studies. Meta-analyses of RCTs show small weight loss effects (~1.8 kg vs placebo over 4–12 weeks) and modest postprandial glucose blunting. Effects are limited to the starchy component of a meal; sugars and fats are unaffected.

    How to Measure

    Optional: finger-stick or CGM glucose 60–90 min after a standardized starchy meal with and without the supplement.
