Probiotics for Lactose Intolerance
Certain probiotic strains express beta-galactosidase, the very enzyme lactose intolerance lacks, and trials show modest improvements in lactose digestion and symptoms. The effect is real but smaller and less reliable than simply taking lactase or choosing low-lactose dairy.

Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis Bi-07 supports lactose digestion in vitro and in randomized, placebo- and lactase-controlled clinical trials

Caveats
Benefits stop when intake stops. Effect sizes vary widely between strains — yoghurt bacteria have the most consistent data. Not a licence to ignore your personal lactose threshold.
