Twelve-month randomised double-blind placebo-controlled trial of decaffeinated green tea extract providing 843 mg EGCG daily in postmenopausal women
Key Findings
Green tea extract did not reduce mammographic breast density overall, and elevated liver enzymes occurred in 6.7% of the treatment group versus 0.7% of placebo.
Conclusions
High-dose green tea extract failed its primary endpoint and produced measurable hepatotoxicity signals.
