    Methodology

    12-week randomized controlled trial in 79 adults with impaired glucose metabolism (72 analysed) comparing camelina oil (10 g/day ALA), fatty fish, lean fish and control; 12-hour urinary prostanoids and isoprostanes measured by LC-MS/MS.

    Key Findings

    Plasma ALA rose in the camelina oil group, but urinary prostaglandin F2a, isoprostanes, isofuran and neuroprostane levels were not markedly altered by any diet.

    Conclusions

    Camelina oil did not meaningfully change urinary markers of oxidative stress despite raising plasma ALA - a null result.

    Limitations

    Urinary prostanoids are a single oxidative-stress window; 12-week duration; modest per-arm numbers.

    Supplements Studied

    Our study showed that the proportion of ALA in plasma phospholipids increased in the CSO group.
