    Systematic review and random-effects meta-analysis of 8 randomized controlled trials in overweight/obese participants

    No statistically significant difference in weight loss between glucomannan and placebo (MD -0.22 kg; 95% CI -0.62 to 0.19; I2 = 65%). Adverse events included abdominal discomfort, diarrhea and constipation.

    Conclusions

    Available RCTs do not show that glucomannan intake generates statistically significant weight loss.
