Published in Phytotherapy Research
Methodology
Randomized placebo-controlled trial of Garcinia cambogia extract with dietary control in obese women over 60 days
Key Findings
Triglycerides fell significantly in the treated group, but no significant effect was seen on body weight, BMI, fat mass, resting metabolic rate or respiratory quotient.
Conclusions
Short-term Garcinia cambogia produced a hypotriglyceridemic effect but did not change anthropometric or calorimetric fat-burning measures.
Limitations
Small sample, short 60-day duration, single-centre.
Outcomes Measured
No significant response was observed on other variables of the lipid profile, or on the anthropometric and calorimetric parameters
