Robinson J, Ferreira A, Iacovou M, Kellow NJ

    Published in Nutrition Reviews

    Methodology

Systematic review of randomized controlled trials of dietary and nutrient interventions (including calcium, vitamin D, magnesium, vitamin B6) in women of reproductive age with PMS, databases searched to October 2022.

    Key Findings

High-quality evidence for nutritional interventions in PMS remains limited; trials were small and at risk of bias despite some symptom improvements.

    Conclusions

Nutrient supplementation cannot yet be strongly recommended for PMS on current trial quality.

    Limitations

Few high-quality RCTs; focus on psychological outcomes rather than somatic bloating.
