Chronic fatigue syndrome post-COVID-19: triple-blind randomised clinical trial of Astragalus root extract

Methodology
Triple-blind randomised placebo-controlled trial in 64 nurses with post-COVID-19 chronic fatigue syndrome; 500 mg Astragalus root extract twice daily, outcomes measured at end of treatment and one month later.
Key Findings
Chronic fatigue prevalence fell to 13.8% at end of intervention and 17.2% one month later in the Astragalus group, while being in the control group increased the risk of persisting fatigue (OR = 12.36, p = 0.01).
Conclusions
Astragalus root extract reduced chronic fatigue in nurses with post-COVID-19 chronic fatigue syndrome.
Limitations
Single-centre, small sample, one occupational group, short follow-up, self-reported fatigue outcome.
