Random-effects meta-analysis of 7 RCTs (10 treatment arms) with meta-regression and sensitivity analysis
Key Findings
Pooled CRP fell by 0.33 mg/L (95% CI -0.50 to -0.15). Effect was significant at doses >=500 mg/day and in participants with baseline CRP <3 mg/L.
Conclusions
Quercetin modestly lowers circulating C-reactive protein, especially above 500 mg/day.
Limitations
Small absolute effect of uncertain clinical relevance; limited number of trials; heterogeneous populations.
