    Systematic review and meta-analysis of dietary and supplemental calcium intake and fracture risk.

    Key Findings

    Dietary calcium intake was not associated with fracture risk, and calcium supplements produced inconsistent and clinically unimportant reductions in total fracture risk with no reduction in hip fracture.

    Conclusions

    Increasing calcium intake is unlikely to translate into clinically meaningful fracture reduction.
