    Systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized trials of carnosine or beta-alanine in prediabetes and type 2 diabetes.

    Carnosine supplementation significantly lowered HbA1c and improved insulin resistance versus placebo in prediabetes and type 2 diabetes, while effects on fasting insulin were not significant.

    Conclusions

    Carnosine shows modest glycemic benefit in dysglycemia, but trial numbers remain small.
