The Effects of Apple Cider Vinegar on Cardiometabolic Risk Factors: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Clinical Trials

Methodology
Systematic review and meta-analysis of 25 clinical trials (33 arms) in 1,320 adults assessing apple cider vinegar and cardiometabolic risk factors.
Key Findings
ACV significantly improved fasting blood glucose (-21.20 mg/dL), HbA1c (-0.91) and total cholesterol (-6.72 mg/dL), with no significant effect on BMI, HOMA-IR, insulin, triglycerides, LDL-C or HDL-C. Benefits were concentrated in people with diabetes.
Conclusions
Apple cider vinegar consumption has a favourable effect on selected glycemic and lipid markers, mainly in diabetic populations.
Limitations
Very high statistical heterogeneity (I2 up to 98.9%), many small trials of varied quality, and null results for most lipid and insulin outcomes.
Supplements Studied
