Moderate to severe injury requires imaging and neurosurgical assessment. Supplements attract intense interest here, with omega-3 and creatine the most promoted, but human outcome trials are small, methodologically weak, or absent. When to See a Doctor
Seek emergency care for worsening or severe headache, repeated vomiting, seizure, increasing drowsiness or confusion, weakness or numbness, unequal pupils, or clear fluid from the nose or ears. Anyone on anticoagulants who sustains a head injury needs assessment regardless of how they feel.
