    No randomised trials test curcumin for plantar fasciitis specifically; the case rests on its broader musculoskeletal anti-inflammatory evidence (osteoarthritis trials show modest pain reduction). In contrast, high-load strength training and fascia-specific stretching have direct randomised trial support for this exact condition. Footwear modification and load management also have stronger direct evidence.

    Caveats

    Mixed and indirect evidence — no dedicated trials. Bleeding risk with anticoagulants and antiplatelets; stop before any injection procedure or surgery. Avoid in gallstone disease. Rare hepatotoxicity. Avoid therapeutic doses in pregnancy, which is also a common time for plantar heel pain.

    People not doing loading rehabilitation, those with nerve entrapment or a calcaneal stress fracture mistaken for fasciitis, and those with unaddressed footwear or bodyweight drivers.
