    The evidence here is insufficient. CoQ10 has been trialled at 100-300 mg/day in athletes and untrained adults with VO2max and oxygen kinetics as endpoints, and the results are inconsistent — most well-controlled trials show no meaningful improvement in oxygen utilisation.,Where CoQ10 does show effects in exercise settings, they are on markers of muscle damage and oxidative stress, not on aerobic capacity.,The interventions that reliably improve VO2max are structured aerobic training, correcting iron deficiency anaemia, and altitude or heat adaptation.,If you still want to trial it, 200-300 mg/day loaded for at least 14 days is the studied regimen — but expect no VO2 change.,Very high antioxidant intakes may theoretically blunt training adaptations, so do not megadose during a build phase.

    What the studies say

    Trials in healthy athletes are largely null for VO2max. Benefit appears mainly in statin users, heart failure, and mitochondrial disorders where baseline levels are low.

    No studies are yet linked to both CoQ10 and Oxygen Utilization Improvement.

    Caveats

    Do not substitute CoQ10 for aerobic training or for investigating exertional breathlessness, which can indicate anaemia, asthma or cardiac disease. Warfarin interaction; additive hypotension. Batch-tested products matter for tested athletes. Insufficient pregnancy data.

    Most people for this endpoint, including trained endurance athletes with normal CoQ10 status.
