Meneghetti JK, Pedrotti MT, Coimbra IM, da Cunha-Filho JSL

    Published in Reproductive Sciences

    Methodology

Systematic review of 11 RCTs (716 women) with meta-analysis of 6 RCTs (457 women) on dietary and supplement interventions in endometriosis

    Key Findings

Antioxidant supplementation reduced dysmenorrhea (MD -1.95, 95% CI -3.78 to -0.13) but did not significantly reduce chronic pelvic pain (MD -2.22, 95% CI -4.99 to 0.55).

    Conclusions

Dietary and antioxidant interventions show a modest benefit for dysmenorrhea but not for chronic pelvic pain in endometriosis.

    Limitations

Most included trials had moderate or high risk of bias and interventions were heterogeneous.
