    Abstract

    Randomized trial of omega-3 fatty acids and gamma-linolenic acid in mild-to-moderate acne.

    Methodology

    Three-arm double-blind controlled trial of omega-3, borage-oil-derived gamma-linolenic acid, or control over ten weeks.

    Key Findings

    Both supplement groups showed reductions in inflammatory and non-inflammatory lesions without severe adverse effects.

    Conclusions

    Omega-3 and gamma-linolenic acid may be useful adjuncts for acne.

    Limitations

    Small sample, short duration, and not specific to hormonal or adult female acne.
