    Methodology

    Cochrane systematic review of randomised controlled trials of myo-inositol or D-chiro-inositol in subfertile women with PCOS undergoing fertility treatment or trying to conceive.

    Key Findings

    Evidence was of very low quality and it remains uncertain whether inositol improves live birth or clinical pregnancy rates, although there was some evidence of improved ovulation and no increase in adverse events.

    Conclusions

    The effect of inositol on live birth in subfertile women with PCOS is uncertain.

    Limitations

    Very low certainty evidence; small trials at risk of bias; sparse reporting of live birth.
