Published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine
Methodology
Network meta-analysis of 15 randomized placebo-controlled trials comparing nutraceutical regimens, alone or with PDE5 inhibitors, on IIEF-5/IIEF-6 scores in men with erectile dysfunction
Key Findings
Direct and indirect comparisons across 15 RCTs produced an efficacy hierarchy in which some nutraceuticals improved IIEF scores versus placebo, but confidence was limited by small, heterogeneous trials.
Conclusions
Nutraceuticals may offer modest erectile function benefits, but evidence quality is insufficient to recommend them over established therapy.
Limitations
Few head-to-head trials, small samples, and variable formulations reduce certainty of the ranking.
Supplements Studied
their efficacy remains doubtful, and the choice of one substance over the other is challenged by the dearth of head-to-head comparative studies
