    Partovi Golshan R, Moradi M, Rakhshandeh H, Ghavami V

Published in International Journal of Community Based Nursing and Midwifery

    Methodology

Triple-blind three-arm randomized clinical trial comparing daily Vitagnus (Vitex agnus-castus), soy, or a Vitagnus-soy combination capsule over two menstrual cycles in 108 students with moderate-to-severe PMS.

    Key Findings

All three active arms reduced PMS symptom scores over two cycles; no placebo arm was included, limiting inference about specific efficacy for bloating.

    Conclusions

Vitex and soy preparations were associated with symptom improvement, but the absence of a placebo group weakens the finding.

    Limitations

No placebo control; single-center student sample; short duration.

    Supplements Studied

This study aimed to compare the effects of the Vitagnus, soy, and Vitagnus-soy combination on PMS in students.
