Published in Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews

    Methodology

Cochrane review of 23 RCTs of interventions for burning mouth syndrome.

    Key Findings

Evidence for any single treatment is very low certainty; clonazepam, psychological therapy and some antidepressants showed short-term symptom reduction, and alpha-lipoic acid results were inconsistent.

    Conclusions

    Limitations

Very low certainty evidence; small heterogeneous trials.
