Dose-response, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of proanthocyanidin-standardised cranberry juice or powder in H. pylori-positive adults, assessed by 13C-urea breath test
Key Findings
High-proanthocyanidin cranberry juice raised H. pylori-negative rates to 20.0% at week 8 versus 7.35% with placebo; lower doses showed no benefit.
Conclusions
Only high-PAC cranberry intake meaningfully suppresses H. pylori, and it does not replace eradication therapy.
Limitations
Suppression rather than eradication; single high-risk region; effect diminished after intervention stopped.
