Published in International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism

    Methodology

    Five-week double-blind placebo-controlled RCT of CordyMax Cs-4 (3 g/day) in 22 trained male cyclists, assessing VO2max, ventilatory threshold and 30-minute time-trial performance.

    Key Findings

No significant differences between Cordyceps and placebo for VO2max, ventilatory threshold, blood lactate or time-trial work output.

    Conclusions

Cordyceps sinensis supplementation did not enhance endurance performance in trained cyclists.

    Limitations

Trained population may have limited room for improvement; small sample; single product.
