    Methodology

    GRADE-assessed systematic review and dose-response meta-analysis of 28 randomized controlled trials with 830 adults on coenzyme Q10 and exercise-induced muscle damage, performance and oxidative stress

    Key Findings

    CoQ10 reduced creatine kinase (WMD -50.64 IU/L), lactate dehydrogenase (WMD -52.10 IU/L), myoglobin (WMD -21.77 ng/ml) and malondialdehyde (WMD -0.73 umol/l), with no significant change in total antioxidant capacity.

    Conclusions

    CoQ10 attenuates markers of exercise-induced muscle damage and oxidative stress, though effects on performance itself are more modest.

    Limitations

    Heterogeneous doses and populations; biomarker rather than clinical endpoints dominate.
