    Systematic review and meta-analysis of 18 placebo-controlled randomized trials of vitamins and minerals for migraine prophylaxis; only CoQ10 and magnesium had poolable data.

    Key Findings

    In adults, CoQ10 did not significantly reduce migraine frequency (MD -0.44, 95% CI -2.14 to 1.26), duration or severity; magnesium did not significantly reduce migraine severity (RoM -0.17, 95% CI -0.36 to 0.02).

    Conclusions

    Evidence for vitamins and minerals in migraine prophylaxis is limited and largely non-significant; larger high-quality trials are needed.

    Limitations

    Few poolable trials, small samples (under 250 participants per comparison), heterogeneity, low to moderate strength of evidence.
