    Oral omega-3 fatty acids treatment in computer vision syndrome related dry eye

    Methodology

    Multicentre randomized double-blind placebo-controlled trial; 456 analysed symptomatic computer users (>3 h/day) received 360 mg EPA + 240 mg DHA daily or olive oil placebo for 3 months.

    Key Findings

    The omega-3 group showed greater improvement in dry eye symptom scores, Schirmer values, tear break-up time and conjunctival impression cytology than placebo.

    Conclusions

    Omega-3 supplementation improved dry eye symptoms and tear film measures in computer vision syndrome.

    Limitations

    Industry-adjacent single-region population; short follow-up; subjective primary outcome.
