Randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial of fermented red clover extract twice daily for three months in postmenopausal women with overactive bladder
Key Findings
Intake of red clover extract did not lead to significant relief in most urinary bladder symptom measures, although bother of urinary urgency was reduced (p = 0.033).
Conclusions
Fermented red clover isoflavones produced largely null effects on overactive bladder symptoms in postmenopausal women.
Limitations
Very small sample (n=33), short duration, single symptom endpoint reached significance among many tested.
