The effect of turmeric-boswellia formulation (Rhuleave-K) in posture-related low back soreness and discomfort: a randomized double blinded placebo controlled trial

Published in Journal of Back and Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation

    Methodology

Randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of a turmeric-boswellia formulation over 14 days in adults with posture-related low back discomfort, with VAS pain and functional questionnaires.

    Key Findings

In 52 adults with posture-related low back soreness, a turmeric-boswellia formulation (Rhuleave-K) taken for 14 days reduced pain scores faster and to a greater degree than placebo, with improvements in functional discomfort ratings and good tolerability.

    Conclusions

A curcumin-boswellia combination provided short-term relief of postural low back soreness, though the tiny sample and two-week horizon limit confidence.

    Limitations

Small sample, very short 2-week duration with no follow-up after cessation, self-reported pain endpoints, mild non-clinical back soreness rather than chronic low back pain, and industry sponsorship.
