Randomized trial comparing omeprazole/amoxicillin/metronidazole with curcumin in H. pylori gastritis, with gastric biopsy cytokine mRNA measurement
Key Findings
Eradication was 78.9% with antibiotics vs 5.9% with curcumin; curcumin did not reduce IL-8, IL-1beta, TNF-alpha or COX-2 expression.
Conclusions
Curcumin alone is not effective for eradicating H. pylori or reducing gastric mucosal inflammation.

Small sample, short treatment, surrogate cytokine endpoints.
