Methodology
Systematic review and meta-analysis of five randomized controlled trials of soy isoflavones in climacteric women, quality assessed with RoB-2.
Key Findings
Soy isoflavones did not improve menopausal symptoms (SMD -0.49, 95% CI -1.13 to 0.16) or quality of life; only depression scores improved (SMD -0.41, 95% CI -0.73 to -0.09).
Conclusions
Soy isoflavones show a null effect on vasomotor and quality-of-life outcomes in climacteric women.
Limitations
Only five trials; high risk of conflict of interest among included studies.
