    Published in Journal of Ethnopharmacology

    Methodology

Controlled animal (rat) experiment comparing aqueous Turnera diffusa extract (20-80 mg/kg), yohimbine and vehicle in sexually exhausted males

    Key Findings

Turnera diffusa at 80 mg/kg increased the proportion of males resuming copulation and shortened the post-ejaculatory interval without altering locomotion or anxiety.

    Conclusions

Animal data support a pro-sexual effect, but no equivalent human trial of damiana alone exists.

    Limitations

Rodent model; single-dose ranging; no human translation.

    Supplements Studied

Yohimbine and Turnera diffusa (80 mg/kg) significantly increased the percentage of males achieving one ejaculatory series and resuming a second one.
