    Effects of royal jelly on bone metabolism in postmenopausal women: a randomized, controlled study

    Methodology

    Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in 72 healthy postmenopausal women aged 45-60 within five years of menopause, taking dried royal jelly equivalent to 3000 mg fresh daily or placebo for six months, with DXA bone mineral density, hip structural analysis and bone turnover markers

    Placebo recipients lost bone mineral density and femoral structural quality, while these declines were not significant in the royal jelly group.
